Just thin king about a young girl who hasn't even had the chance to live, and she is unable to move on, and has to relive that terror over and over.
Chilling isn't it?Lisa Goodwinhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00243081043898202583noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1213634192254729720.post-77105862609012668222011-10-31T13:48:05.797-07:002011-10-31T13:48:05.797-07:00Very well written and wow! What may be scarier and more sorrowful than any horror story or horror movie is the very real horrors that some human beings do to other human beings ... and the mark it leaves. The thought of either that girl suffering the moment of her death again and again -- or of the persistence of the memory of that moment -- chills me deeply. - StantStant Litorehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00087043400993681841noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1213634192254729720.post-11099514462408441802011-10-31T11:25:09.643-07:002011-10-31T11:25:09.643-07:00Goosebumps. I loved the imagery used as well, especially: "The houses were ancient and drowning and water-logged and looked as miserable as people sitting naked in a swamp. There were broken windows and rooms that maybe hadn’t been lit in years. It would have been just mournful, but seeing what we’d already seen that night, those lonely windows just seemed to whisper: Terrible things happened here, terrible things, we saw them, but we won’t tell you about them, we’ll just sit here and look at you."
Beautifully chilling story. I bet that girl's image has haunted you. It would haunt me.
Thanks for the post.
- Kim
hopping from "Wrestling the Muse"Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
